HEALTHWORKS

Healthworks is a charity based in Newcastle working with local communities across the North East to improve their health, wellbeing and life outcomes.

Healthworks believes that everyone, regardless of the challenges they face- low income, unemployment or poor housing, should have the same opportunity to live in good health.

Following a rigorous selection and assessment process, Healthworks was chosen from more than 350 charities across the UK as one of the 10 winners of the 2021 GSK IMPACT Awards. The awards are designed to recognise the outstanding work of small and medium sized charities working to improve health and wellbeing in communities across the UK.

Our health promotion and improvement services are varied and we offer group and 1-2-1 support to help people to get active, eat more healthily, stop smoking, manage their existing health conditions, be more aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer and improve their wellbeing. In addition, our Health Improvement Team also offer NHS Health Checks and our Amazing Start team offer ante-natal support and support with infant feeding.

We have a Pre-school in Lemington and the Healthworks Gyms at The Lemington Centre and The Health Resource Centre in Benwell are fully equipped gyms that are open to the community. For more information about our work please visit www.healthworksnewcastle.org.uk
